# Meridian observable and origin exploration

This fictional packet uses the directly revised V2 observable catalog and the attributed OCS origin catalog from canonical standard commit `1b2ca8f43bd67cce9209cfa1b4c6f432a2607f01`. Five qualitative reviews compare the sourcebook and original scalar captures: two observable research questions and three origin hypotheses. Their stated questions have inconclusive outcomes. Other terms have no assessment in this packet; parent and child nodes do not inherit a review.

Build that canonical checkout, including records, schema, observables and origins. From the downloaded root, retaining sibling `assessments-v1/`, run:

```sh
node vocabulary-v1/build.mjs /path/to/canonical
```

The builder reproduces the public documents and display projection using the pinned source revision. The archival claim-history and shared vocabulary APIs are published in npm `2.0.0-beta.4`, which the portal now consumes. Keep the source pin above when rebuilding this fixture. For integration with the published packages, follow <https://os.disclosure.org/v2/docs/observables>.

## Catalog references and review scope

`observable-catalog.json` and `origin-catalog.json` are standard `vocabulary_catalog` documents. Each supplies its authority-qualified catalog identity, immutable revision and terms. `catalog.json` is the display source collection, containing the same definitions and their complete domain metadata.

`vocabulary-bindings.json` connects an exact catalog revision and term to an exact claim-history snapshot and claim ID. Each binding retains its assignment author, time and rationale. It is separate from the claim’s subject and supporting source inputs. Catalogs are not counted as observations supporting a claim.

The two observable bindings use `about`. Their reviews concern physical acceleration and comparable cross-sensor detection, which are narrower questions than every situation covered by Abrupt Motion or Sensor Detection Discrepancy. A related review does not declare that all aspects of the broader characteristic are present or absent. The three origin bindings use `assessment_criterion`, declared by the same evaluator, to identify the exact hypothesis addressed. A claim’s free-text topic is not used to validate membership.

Method and authored reviews remain complete claim inputs alongside exact source edition/page citations and whole-file references. The source set excludes later instrument, laboratory and sky demonstrations. The vocabulary packet adopts the revised V2 definitions directly, with no compatibility aliases or migration crosswalk.

## What validation establishes

The builder checks source bytes, canonical record relationships, exact catalog and claim-history snapshots, catalog/term identity, assignment attribution and binding constraints. Missing referenced bytes are explicitly unchecked; supplied contradictory bytes or identities fail. The receipt includes the shared vocabulary evaluator’s results. A passed reference check is not a scientific assessment.

The OCS provenance and per-node testability flag remain framework declarations. Observable definitions include scientific context and qualifications; this packet does not independently validate those definitions or the cited research. No suggested test has been run, no source has been authenticated and no probability or preferred origin is assigned. Inspect `reviews.json`, `method.md`, the exact source inputs and `validation.json` to see the review and its limits.
