The beta connects observations, instrument context, attributed interpretations and dataset releases. It is available for integration testing and feedback. The npm beta is 2.0.0-beta.3; it is not a stable release.

Keep facts and interpretations distinct
An observation holds sources, products, methods, assertions and measurements. A claim history attributes interpretations separately. Instrument context describes declared acquisition and calibration history; it does not independently verify it.
Validation has explicit boundaries: structural, semantic, profile and external checks. A check that has not run remains not_checked. Passing document validation does not establish a scientific conclusion.
What remains under review
The full native ELDÆON archive and partner mapping approval are pending. Independent semantic exchange, real-data reproduction, qualified scientific review and governance remain stable-release gates. The public preview is not a native acquisition dataset.
Build your first integration
Start with observation records, then describe instruments and acquisition. Bindings connect the two. The worked example includes all four documents and local artifacts so you can run the checks yourself.

Follow a research workflow
Use testimony, documents and provenance or physical samples when those are the sources you hold. These workflows can preserve unknown event context without inventing sensor measurements. Run the three synthetic examples to see what their checks establish.
The Records explorer links to each workflow. The testimony workflow also includes witnesses, distinct recorded accounts and attributed reviews, with an interactive example and a runnable download. Document editions, digital custody and material analysis remain subsequent domain checkpoints.
For archival sources, preserve exact editions and digital custody with attributable reviews. The fictional two-edition example keeps release history, missing information and citation scope visible.
